hokay so like every other "all characters" page idk how to structure this yet so here's a list and ill fix it later thank you <3

the important ones that you see in the nav bar

Yuka: the main guy; brand-new vodjmir; bastard child of a noble and a peasant forced into a boarding school when they showed signs of the shamanic calling as a child; they utilized a hollowed spirit formed from their own fear and anger to run away from the school, but then started to freak out when the spirit wanted them to start murdering people left and right; tried to ask for divine help to get rid of the spirit and instead was granted the title of vodjmir; now trying really hard to be a cool vodjmir while also learning how to be a cool at the same time
Vonyova: demigod daughter of Askr, first vodjmir, and guiding spirit to all other vodjmir; sometimes a folk, sometimes a bird; is trying to instruct Yuka on how to be cool
Tsaritsa Yelenovna: the reigning tsaritsa of Sovskova; still mourning the death of her wife so she's just kinda sitting around and staring wistfully out the window; although she's technically still in charge of everything, she doesn't do much anymore
High King Vadim: the reigning high king of Sovskova and Yelenovna's younger brother; took over much of his sister's responsibilites and military command when her wife died so she could focus on mourning... and also so he could get the power trip he always wanted
Ksunya: the previous vodjmir before Yuka and Yelenova's dead wife; was quite beloved... and then assassinated; typically vodjmir spirits can hang around and do whatever they want after death, but Ksunya hasn't been seen since she died; Yelenovna assumed she was staying up in the celestial canopy cause she was still mad and didnt want to see Yelenova, but Vonyova assumed she was staying in the palace cause she was still mad at Vonyova and didnt want to see her; turns out she's just nowhere

the not-so-important ones that i dont know where to fit

Nora: damn right Nora gets a fantasy AU counterpart too; she's supposed to be one of the Tsaritsa's personal guards; not sure if i wanna make her human or snelf yet though
the previous tsaritsa i dont have a name for yet: Yelenovna and Vadim's mother; died from an illness that no shaman could cure nor diagnose
the previous tsar: Yelenovna and Vadim's father; was the tsar consort before his wife died and then he took on the title/responsibility of tsar; kinda crumpled after her death but tried to hide that for his kids who were still pretty young; also dies from... something i havent thought of yet uhhhhh; main thing to note for this character was that he truly does want the best for Yelenovna and Vadim, but what he thinks is best isnt really... best; for Yelenovna, he went through great lengths to find suitors who would give her greatest political advantage while also being a good partner, and tried to tell her Ksunya wouldn't be a great marriage canidate as she had next to no political influence nor financial assets; for Vadim (assuming i go the current route im sorta playing around with), he told him mask his spiritual sensitivity not because he thought he was weird, but because he was afraid of how others would treat him if they thought he was weird
Ksunya's mother: the head chef of the palace; runs a tight ship and is both respected and feared (by workers as well as the tsar); still alive by the time of the main story and still working; a sorta mother figure for Yelenovna, even in the present day; after Ksunya's assassination, Yelenovna was horrifically afraid she would hate Yelenovna and blame her for her daughter's death, but instead she came to Yelenovna offering comfort and to include her in the family mourning; to this day they are still quite close and often enjoy catching each other up on the castle gossip
Ksunya's father: whaler who spends a lot of his time out at sea; strains the family a bit since his wife and kid missed him a lot, but overall they made it work; there's a joke or smth at some point where yelenovna or someone is like "hey... you never mention your dad being home... is everything okay? is he absent or dead or...?" and ksunya's like huh? what? no it's just whaling season
Yuka's mother: mainly just Lidiya from the original/Yakov's own story; her family probably worked (works?) as very low-paid servants for Dmitri's family; didn't want/look foward to/enjoy motherhood but told herself it wasn't Yuka's fault for being alive, so she tried to be the best mother she could while actively despising the situation she was stuck in
Yuka's father: yeah this is just copy paste Dmitri from poor poor Yakov's life; high-class snow elf noble who thinks he's cool until his aura farming kid shows up to kick his ass; thought Yuka could just be some bastard child in the back of his mind until Yuka started acting Weird and then Dmitri was like fuckkkkkkk i guess ill do something about it since everyone knows this is clearly my child whatever
